Glimpse of God

Posted by on February 17, 2014

We should all take time out of our busy days and notice the glimpses of God we see all around us.. It is so easy to miss them sometimes.

Glimpse of God

I watched the sunrise this morning bathe the hills with light
Saw fireflies flickering in my yard on a starry night

Watched a foal take his first steps on slender wobbly legs
Marveled at tiny bluebirds hatching from their eggs

I saw an aged widow with a silver crown of hair
Talking to her Friend as she bowed her head in prayer

I watched as a wee newborn struggled for each breath
Observed a paramedic as he battled against death

Watched the gray hills of winter don the cloak of spring
Marveled at colors of a rainbow after a summer rain

Viewed the patchwork of a meadow covered with wildflowers
Beheld the fury of a thunderstorm with all it’s might and power

Observed a tear in the corner of an old soldier’s eye
As he proudly saluted, as Ol’ Glory was passing by

Watched a grandma rock the baby as her grandma had before
Saw a son learn from his father the ways of life and lore

Walked the path to the country church where those before had trod
And with each blessing I beheld I saw a glimpse of God
