A Morning Psalm
Psalm 118: 24
This is the day the Lord has made
The sunrise is painting the hills
With a rare beauty that is hard to convey
A message from God it instills
The glory of sunlight, the sparkle of rain
The soft white carpet of snow
A song of a bird; the voice of a friend
The autumn with colors aglow
Each day is special and brings a rare gift
If we are attune to God’s will
Be silent and listen and take in the display
With this beauty, our senses are filled
In the hushed morning, in quietness of dawn
My prayers to God I submit
A new day is beginning a present from God
I will rejoice and be glad in it
